what better way to spend a beautiful fall saturday than at the pumpkin patch with family! we drove up to sky top orchard this morning. jake was absolutely in love with the pumpkins. he kept touching the really big ones. after spending a good little while by all the pumpkins, we finally convinced jake to walk towards the play area. we got his picture in front of the "how tall this fall" sign and proceeded to the flower/scarecrow/etc cut out sign. then....jake saw the slides. we spent some time letting him slide down the slides. we went to pick apples next. i asked one of the men who worked there where we could find some apples because most of the trees looked pretty bare. he said it would be a 15-20 minute walk to find some. so, basically it was time to hike. poor papa billy carried jake majority of the way (it's 9 pm at night and i bet he's already asleep...lol). after picking some apples, we made our way back to the orchard to pay for them. little did we know that there was a surprise waiting there for us! i hear someone call out my name. i looked up and it was stephanie. one of my dearest friends from middle, high school and college. she and i were both due at the same time and ironically both had our babies 2 weeks early. her daughter, lily, is 3 days older than jake. it was such a nice surprise to really top of the already wonderful day! we took some pictures and then said our goodbyes. next, we took a ride on the hayride. jake just sat there taking it all in. after the hayride we decided to go home. we stopped at a local bbq place and ate. we definitely plan on making this an annual event that we do with our family.
