family christmas pictures

on a rather chilly sunday afternoon, we (josh, jake, myself, momma and daddy) headed up to good 'ole downtown landrum to take our family christmas pictures.  i chose the railroad tracks because jake is very much into trains and knew he would love taking pictures on the train tracks.  momma took LOTS of great pictures. (it was very hard to narrow them down) it's hard to believe that this will be our last christmas as a family of three.  allie will be here in about 14 weeks....or less, if she's anything like her brother!!!  how exciting that this time next year, there will be 2 sweet kids in our christmas pictures!!! double the cuteness!!!  i hope you love our family christmas pictures as much as we do!

24 weeks

today i went for a repeat ultrasound screening/24 week check up.  at the 20 week ultrasound, allie didn't cooperate and show us her face or her heart.  today, she cooperated a little bit better.  it only took her 45 minutes to show her sweet face.  she weighs 1 1/2 pounds.  (which made me feel better about my weight gain!) i thought that her weighing that much was a lot, but the ultrasound tech assured me that i am right on track.  and, as a matter of fact, allie is only in the 36th percentile when compared to other 24 week babies.  and her head circumference is on the smaller side too. (that was excellent news since i have plans to try a VBAC this time.) here is my 24 week update::

weeks and day:: 24 weeks, 1 day

wedding rings on or off:: on

food cravings:: still cheese, french fries, cheeseburgers, chicken

nausea:: none

energy: fine during the day, but still crash early at night

weight gain:: (total) - 14 lbs.

mood:: calm, easy-going

maternity clothes:: maternity jeans, maternity tops

size of baby::  she is about 12-13 inches long and weighs 1 1/2 pounds.

next appointment::  december 14th - glucose test and rhogam shot (thanks to being rh negative)

other:: my mom and i finished up my registry at babies r us.  josh is going to register with me at target and buy buy baby.  registering for a little girl is fun!!!

what did you say?

jake has really been saying a lot of impressive words lately.  i often find myself saying to him, "what did you say?"

mommy: jake, look at all the people going trick-or-treating!

jake: wow mommy, dat is amazing!!!

jake: mommy, i want some of my "hawoween" (halloween) candy.

mommy: you can have one piece after supper.

jake: okay mommy.  i eat one piece of candy after supper and it be soooo dewicious (delicious)!!!

jake: mommy, what you doin'?

mommy: i'm putting lotion on your legs.

jake: mommy, what you talkin' 'bout! i not need wotion (lotion) on my wegs (legs).

mommy: ready? one, two, three, GO!

jake: wow mommy! dat (that) was awesome!

where in the world did my child learn "awesome, delicious, amazing, and what you talkin' 'bout!" i absolutely love listening to him talk and expand his vocabulary.  he is a sweet little boy and he keeps me laughing!
