32 weeks

today i went for my 32 week check up. blood pressure - high, as usual. hemoglobin - normal (12.4...whatever the heck that means). weight gain - 1 pound. measuring right at 32 weeks. everything's going great, right? well...i met a new doctor today. she had a hard time finding jake's heartbeat. he's a wiggle worm and wasn't cooperating very well. once she found it, he would move away. now at the last visit, his heart rate was 155, which falls in the normal range of 120-160. apparently this time, it was way more than 160. she told me to wait in the room for just a minute and that she was going to check it again. i went into another room where they strapped me up to a monitor for 20 minutes to check his heart rate. how scary for me?! not a clue as to why all this is happening. (that little machine also measures contractions) so momma was watching the monitor and said that his heart rate was measuring all the way from 120 to 182. the contraction monitor ranged from 13-50% (whatever that means). so the doctor's say that sometimes when a baby is very active his heart rate will go up with all the moving around that he's doing. i told them that i would go ahead and have him some adhd medicine for when he was born...just kidding. needless to say, i have an extremely active baby inside.

  1. That is the machine that they put me on Christmas Eve. Lily didn't want to cooperate on the machine so it took over an hour to get an accurate reading. Her heart rate did the same thing it jumped from the 120s to the 170s. I'm glad that everything is good I know it can be scary at times.
