9 months old

this post is a little late...but jake's 9 month check up was a week late. so i really didn't have all the stats to update with. jake got sick over thanksgiving with a stomach bug. he threw up 7 times in an hour and a half. he was so pitiful. he refused to eat and trying to keep him hydrated was a big challenge. not to mention that he also had a cold and his two top teeth are trying to come through. so he was just really sick. good news though....he's better. still not eating as much as he used to, but at least he's "jake" again. laughing, playing, squealing, going through the house like a wild man in his walker, and giving lots of hugs and wet, sloppy kisses.

so onto his 9 month stats :: weight 22lbs. and 10 oz. (78th percentile) length 29 1/2 inches long (84th percentile) and head 18 3/4 (96th percentile). we still have a really "healthy" boy. he responds to his name and also knows what "no" means. he says "ma-ma", "da-da", and "ba-ba" (which translated is bye-bye because he waves and says it when we're leaving). jake loves to play peek-a-boo. he can feed himself his snacks and has excellent fine motor skills. he grabs snacks with his two fingers and gets it to his mouth. he rolls both ways (finally...lol). however, he still is not crawling or pulling up. we have to work really hard on those. dr. chea said that because he's a bigger boy it might just take him a little longer just like the rolling over thing. jake loves to walk while we hold his hands. i would list some of his favorite foods but he likes them all. he'll pretty much eat anything you put in front of him. we've tried a little table food and we've been given the okay to try a few more things. jake was sleeping through the night for about two weeks and then all that sickness hit. we're guessing that his cold and two top teeth are still waking him up at night. we are super excited about his first christmas and can't wait to see how he reacts to opening presents and getting new toys. (i place bets that he'll be more interested in paper than the toys!)
