let's just start off saying that paula (my co-teacher for vbs this week) and i only had two babies last year in vbs: jake and denver. i know we both prayed for more babies and well......God answered our prayers....BIG TIME!!! we had ELEVEN babies this year for vbs. CrAZy!!! we had 4 babies that were 4 months old and under, and 5 two year olds, and 2 one year olds. (birth control at its best....lol). we had a blast and thoroughly enjoyed showing God's love to each of them.
as you already know, jake stays at home during the school year with either momma or barbara. therefore, he is never around this many kids. and oh. my. word. the first night, i bet he had a dozen meltdowns. each night he gradually got better about sharing and understanding that every toy wasn't his. by thursday night, we were "meltdown free."
craft time was a huge hit for jake! he loves to color, paint, and draw. we made airplane goggles (above) but jake preferred to call them his "superman glasses."
jake also loved going outside for recreation. tons of sidewalk chalk, bubbles, balls, swings, and daddy....yep, doesn't get much better than that!
we most certainly had a blast at vacation bible school this year! it was bittersweet for me though. this is the last year that jake will be in the babies class. next year he'll have to move up to the 3's and 4's......without me. he's growing up so fast!!!
