first ear infection

look at that pitiful face. jake cut his first tooth about 2 weeks ago and he was not sleeping well at night. we just thought that he was in pain from cutting the tooth. after many, many sleepless nights i just knew in my heart that something was wrong. he wasn't drinking much of his bottles at all. i was worried he would get dehydrated. the only thing that threw me off is that he wasn't running a temp. i should have trusted my instinct and taken him to the doctor that day (saturday) but decided to ask some friends what to do. i got numerous answers and we tried those things that night. jake still didn't sleep. so i got my mom to bring him to the doctor this past tuesday and he had an ear infection in his left ear and one developing in his right. bless his heart. he was in so much pain. dr. chea gave him some antibiotics and wants to see him again in 3 weeks to make sure that the infection has cleared up. he seems to be doing a little better. he tugs at his right ear a lot, so i wonder if he has the infection in his right ear now. but at least he's on the antibiotics and it should help clear that one up too. just pray that he'll start sleeping through the night again. this "no sleeping business" is not for a working mom or dad!! needless to say....we're absolutely exhausted. we just want jake to feel better soon!!!
