we had no idea why jake randomly stopped sleeping through the night. all josh and i knew was that it had been 3 weeks since we had gotten a full night of sleep. i emailed our doctor who suggested that we try some method to get him to sleep through the night again. well it worked within 4 nights and he began sleeping through the night again for about a week. then bam! he started randomly screaming (and i mean screaming) in the middle of the night again....like 4-6 times a night! we tried numerous things: fan on, pillows, our clothes in his crib, humidifier on, warm bottle, cold bottle, long sleeves, onesies, earlier bedtime, later bedtime, etc. nothing was working! then out of the blue, i was changing jake's diaper and he was laughing. i saw something in his mouth. he had just eaten his snack, so i thought it was just some food still in his mouth. i felt in there and whoa!!!!!! it was hard....for real??? is that a molar??? i ran to get josh and he looked too! yep...jake wasn't sleeping through the night because he was getting his first molar! then about 3 days later, we noticed the top left molar coming through. oh and wait!!! about 4 days after we discovered his second molar, we found his lower left molar coming through. and 2 days ago we found the lower right molar coming through too! poor little guy!! he just can't seem to catch a break from this teething thing...he's been teething since he was 7 months old!!! so with all this teething comes the dreaded ear infection. jake was running a fever of 102.5. and it wasn't going down very much with tylenol or motrin. so dr. chea confirmed that he did have an ear infection and if he wasn't better in 3 days to bring him back. well, we had to bring him back. the ear infection wasn't clearing up and he was developing another one in his other ear. so she gave him a higher dosage of the medicine. only bad thing was that it can cause and upset stomach and even looser bowels. but bless his heart!!! he's been on the medicine for 3 days and has only thrown up once. and he seems to be feeling a little better, however extremely clingy....which i would expect from a baby who doesn't feel well. so...with all that said, we've been having some crazy sleepless nights!!!
