fall is here

cooler weather....cuddling underneath blankets on the couch....hot chocolate....pumpkins....yep, fall is here. unfortunately, fall also brings a nasty little thing called the flu when it comes. not to mention, the new H1N1 flu. of course being a teacher, i have to be careful at school because we all know sickness is everywhere. one of my sweet kids, bless his heart, got the H1N1. honestly, i was scared to death. i thought "what more could i have done to prevent this from happening?" and then thought "oh no, the germ is in my room." i knew from all the news i had to be extremely careful not to get it. everyone at school was asking me if i had gotten a flu shot. (duh, read my previous blog...i don't think so) anyway, i finally broke down and called my regular doctors office to ask them what i should do...knowing that they were going to make me get the dreaded shot. now i must say, they (obviously) understand that i have a HUGE fear of needles and suggested that i call my OB to see what they had to say. i called the OB and they immediately called me right back and asked "did you have contact with this person?" now...what kind of question is that?! of course i did, the kid is in my class. i told them that i had been in contact with the child who had it. they told me they would call in a prescription for tamiflu. so just to clarify and calm my nerves, i asked the dreaded question..."so i don't have to get a shot?" the nurse said no. instant relief. so, here's the "God thing" :: josh was praying for me and asked the Lord to somehow allow me not to have to get a shot. God listens to and answers all our prayers. some more quickly than others, but He definitely answers them. (i was really glad He answered this one so quickly) i am so incredibly thankful for a God who answers prayers, a husband who prays for me, AND not having to get a shot. now i can continue to enjoy my most favorite season of the year. **17 days until we find out...boy or girl?**
